Choice. Freedom. Be sure to comment.

Let's do a little test.

Tell me in a few lines what do you perceive as the true FREEDOM OF CHOICE?

For those that are having the trouble with cutting your thought into bite size chunks, this might help:

If you are offered following choices
А) Insert random choice here
Б) Insert another random choice here
В) Insert yet another random choice here

What would for you be the freedom of choice in this situation?

Imma leave this here, continue with some other posts and return to this subject in a few days.

Happy posting ;)

  1. Freedom of choice is being able to do what you want and not biased by what others might think or the consequences.

  2. there is no freedom of choice.. never, you choices always depend on something that you can't directly decide, like other people or even the weather.. so you never have a total freedom in you decision. you just have a number of alternatives

  3. we are directed by factors. You may be affected by them differently due to past experience but that is the limit of difference between you and the next guy.

  4. Most decisions are affected by predetermined factors. If the factors are inconclusive to the definitive outcome of the choice the rest relies on past judgment and mind set/mood of the person. Freedom of choice is an expression, to be honest. There is no proof it actually exists.

  7. If you were to offer me those choices, such as putting my choice in a list form, then it's not my choice anymore at all. Freedom of choice is the freedom to choose what you want although this is much like saying, you can buy whatever you want. Yes, you can, but only things others have put there for you to buy. Freedom of choice is choosing to buy or make it yourself but most people forget the make it yourself part.

  10. Freedom of choice is to be able to choose what you want to do, when you want to do it without someone telling you can.

  12. MTN - I couldnt have said it better myself. If your being offerd choices then you have the freedom of choosing from the options you are given but you do not have the freedom of creating your own choices and options...there for imo you never really have the complete freedom of choice.

  15. It's only when we've lost everything, that we're free to do anything.

A man is only truly free when he has nothing left to lose, because then he is able choose to do anything he wants without fear of repercussions.

Because more than anything, I think, those are the things that hold us back from truly being free to choose for ourselves-- repercussions of our choices.

Once you reject any and all repercussions, anything is possible (within reason, bounds of reality).

  16. In your situation there is no freedom of choice - the freedom of choice would be to think of your own choice.

    ... good question, really.
